Workshop venues

The workshop will be held at Geoscience Australia located on the corner of Hindmarsh Drive and Jerrabomberra Avenue, Symonston, about 15 minutes drive south-east of the centre of Canberra. The Ice Breaker on Wednesday evening will be held at the Best Western Garden City Hotel, Jerrabomberra Avenue, Narrabundah, only a short distance from the workshop venue. The workshop dinner on Thursday evening will be at the Australian War Memorial, Treloar Crescent, Campbell. All venues are shown in the image below.

Recommended Accommodation

A range of accommodation exists within walking distance of the workshop venue or within central Canberra. Recommended accommodation in close proximity to the workshop venue is: the Best Western Garden City Hotel, Hotel Heritage, and the Diplomat Hotel.

Transportation

Parking will be provided for delegates choosing to drive to the workshop venue. For those staying in the city Action Buses (route 4) run from the city centre (Civic) to Geoscience Australia. Ticketing and route information can be found here.

Extended Abstract submission

The deadline for the 4 page extended abstracts has been extended to JULY 5 2010. All extended abstracts should be written using the template and information downloadable here. Completed abstracts should be submitted by email to AWES14@ga.gov.au by the due date and be of publication quality.
