COMMENTARY ON THE AUSTRALIAN WIND LOADING CODE AS1170.2(1989)

AS1170.2, 1989 is a complex three-tiered code design to suit three classes of user. Although explanatory material is provided in the appendices of the standard, this material is the bare minimum necessary to use the standard, and any user will benefit from the much more detailed exposition and background given in this separate Commentary. It has been prepared by three specialist wind engineers who contributed extensively to the Standard. The advantages and limitiations of each section are pointed out, sample calculations are provided, and it enables the user to go beyond the code limitations while still complying with regulations. The commentary is an invaluable companion to the AS1170.2 code.
